September STEAM Challenge
Through the month of September 2020For children in K-5th, older kids and adults are welcome to join in as well. Introducing the new STEAM Challenge from River Valley District Library! Each month, there will be a new challenge issued with supplies provided by the library. For September, you are challenged to make a mini catapult. Call 309-523-3440 to request your STEAM Challenge Kit today! Don't forget to upload pictures or videos of your finished project to Facebook or Instagram and tag @RiverValleyLibrary. September Morning Yoga
Thursdays during the month of September at 8amJoin Marybeth every Thursday morning at 8am in the library parking lot, weather permitting, for Morning Yoga through the month of September! If you have any questions or would like to register, please contact Marybeth at 563-271-8289. Participants are asked to recognize current social distancing guidelines (staying 6 feet apart) during this program. A limited number of mats and blocks will be provided. September Reading Challenge
Through the month of September 2020For all ages. Join us on our READsquared virtual platform for more reading challenges in the upcoming months! Read one book during the month of September to earn a new badge for your collection. Also for our September Challenge, we are asking you to read a book from the banned/challenged book list. River Valley District Library Board of Trustees Monthly Meeting
Monday, Sept. 21: 5:30-7:30pmThe River Valley District Library Board of Trustees will hold their monthly meeting on Monday, Sept. 21st at 5:30pm in the library's upstairs Community Room. Social distancing & mask wearing will be observed and everyone in the room will be staying at least 6 ft. apart. Introducing, Scholastic Teachables!
We've added a new, free resource for parents & teachers!Scholastic Teachables is an online database of tens of thousands of searchable and printable educational materials. Teacher-authors create and vet thousands of high-quality, ready-to-use resources so that teachers & parents do not have to spend countless hours searching for reliable content to support their instruction. These are a great resource for those who are homeschooling this school year. There are worksheets available for Pre-K up to Grade 8. Visit our Databases page here on the website to log in and get started with your library barcode number.
