* Interlibrary Loan
Interlibrary Loan is a program that makes it possible for users of the River Valley District Library to borrow materials from outside of the library system. Academic, public, school and special libraries throughout Illinois and across the nation participate in this program. This program is free of charge. To borrow materials through ILL, please see a staff member at the circulation desk. To borrow ILL materials you must have a valid library card. Items available through Interlibrary Loan include:
Books
Photocopied articles
Microfilm of newspapers
Academic materials
Magazines/Periodicals
Audiovisual materials
The loan period for items borrowed through Interlibrary Loan is set by the owning library. All Interlibrary Loan items borrowed through our library must be returned to us.
* Public Use Computers
We currently have 12 public use computers available. We also have 5 Apple IPADs for patrons to use in our library and wi-fi hot spots for patrons to check out and use from home. You must have a River Valley District Library card in good standing to check out a hot spot. In addition to Internet access, each public use computer provides:
Microsoft Word
Microsoft Excel
Microsoft PowerPoint
Microsoft Publisher
Printing is available via a networked printer near our circulation desk. Fees for printing are listed above. Printing for school? The first 10 copies are free!
Patrons need to check in at the circulation desk to use a computer. There is usually no time limit for computer use unless other patrons are waiting.
