Description:  The Historical Society will be meeting upstairs! All are welcome to attend! The Port Byron Historical Society June meeting will be on June 14 at 7:00pm at the River Valley District Library in Port Byron. Ed Simpson will talk about John Hauberg and his family and their influence in the Port Byron area. We will also include John Hauberg’s founding of the Black Hawk Hiking Club and the Rock Island County Forest Preserve District, which includes Dorrance Park and Forest Preserve in Port Byron.

The public is welcome to attend to learn more about John Hauberg, and how he continued to influence area history beyond Port Byron.
